General Information of Nepal:

  1. Area, 147,181 Sq.Kms. 

  2. Population, Nepal has approximate 23.2 million people comprising of variety of races and tribes, speaking different langugaes and dialects. 

  3. Entering Nepal, The capital city of Kathmandu is linked by both air and road. Flights link it with Delhi, Calcutta, Varanasi, Patna, Bombay in India , Dhaka in Bangladesh, Karachi in Pakistan, Paro in Bhutan, Bangkok in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Vienna, Netherlands, Osaka, Shangai and Lhasa. By road there are 15 entry points, the major ones being Birgung, Bhairawa (Sunauli), Kakarbhita, Nepalgunj (from India) and at Kodari from Tibet.

  8. Electricity, 220 volts AC, 50 cycles throughout the country. 

  9. Currency, The Nepalese Rupee is the local currency and is subdivided into 100 Paisa. Import of Indian currency by foreigner other than Indian national strictly prohibited. All visitors should obtain a receipt for all currency exchange. The same should be handed over at the airport at the time of departure and generally 10% of the amount exchanged can be reconverted from Nepalese rupees into US dollars. 

  10. Credit Cards, Cards are easily accepted in all major hotel, Restaurant and shopping cneter. But still its suggestion to carry local currency and US dollar for local transport and market.Remember to keep your foreign exchange encashment receipt while making foreign exchange payments or transferring foreign currency into Nepali rupees

Customs, Import Apart from used personal belongings, visitors are allowed to bring to Nepal free of duty cigarettes (200) or cigars (50), distilled liquor (one-1.15 litre bottle) and film 15 rolls. You can also bring in the following articles free of duty on condition that you take them out with you when you leave: binoculars ,movie or video camera, still camera, laptop computer and portable music system. 

  12. Export, It is illegal to export objects over 100 years old (sacred images, paintings, manuscripts) that are valued for culture and religious reasons. Visitors are advised not to purchase such items as they are Nepal’s cultural heritage and belong here.

  13. Wears, Medium-weight and easy to wash cottons can be good choice year-round in the Kathmandu valley. From October to February, woolen sweaters, jackets or similar warm outfits are necessary. Short or long sleeved shirts are good in March through May from June to September light and loose garments are advisable. 

  14. Shopping, Nepal is famous for the products like handmade paper, Semi precious stones, souvenir like stones, crystal, Buddha statues( gold, silver, copper, bronze etc.) woodcarvings, masks, ceramics terracotta , Thanka paintings (a traditional Buddhists painting), carpets textiles( shawls , sweater, t- shirts ) . 

  15. Entertainment, have the world class casinos which are operative round the clock (24 hrs). Some clubs and discotheque in Kathmandu. Most of the major hotels have regular Nepalese cultural function . In Pokhara and Chitwan there is typical Nepali dances.

  4. In case of a guest / travel agent process booking in behalf of their family, friend or for any guest, has been authorized to do so by the concern person (guest travelling) after reading all the terms and conditions mentioned on the brochure / website / booking form. 

Visa:

A visa is necessary to enter Nepal and can be obtained for the following duration from any Royal Nepal Embassy or consulates or on arrival visa at any entry points in Nepal. Please visit official site of Online 'Tourist visa' at http://online.nepalimmigration.gov.np/

  1. For Chinese citizen, need valid visa to travel in Nepal and requested to apply in the Royal Nepalese Embassy or other diplomatic mission as there is no provision of arrival visa for them.

Travel Document:

Our travel coordinator will send soft copy of all the travel document prior to the departure.  On guest arrive in India. Our tour manager will met and handover the hard copy of all the travel document / kits include Final confirmation latter, Hotel and service voucher, hotel Confirmation with contact detail etc.  

 

Transportation:

We appointed latest and comfortable aircon transport of all our guest. Types of vehicle depend on no of guest travelling.

 

Hotels:

  1. Single Occupancy
    Single guest provided with single occupancy/single bedded room have to pay single room supplement apart from the tour package cost.
  1. Check-in and Check-out time 
    For India normally, check-in time is 12 noon and check-out time is 10 am in India.
    For international tours, generally the check-in time is 3 p.m. and check-out time is at 12 noon.

           Plz note: If guest wants any change therein, like early check-in /out, he/she will have to manage the same on his/her own with hotel authorities on
           payment of additional charges.

  1. Twin room Sharing
    Twin room, 02 separate bed in 01 bed room. Person have to sharing the room with their sharing partner/s.
  1. Double room Sharing
    Double room, 01 king / queen size bed in 01 bed room. Person have to sharing the room with their sharing partner/s.
  1. Extra bed
    Extra bed, 01 bed  / mattress provide to accommodate 01 person in double / twin beded room.

 

Restaurants:

  1. We have tie-up with the reputed restaurant in city, keeping in mind of guest safety and hygienic. While, we endeavour to select the best quality restaurants for en-route Meals halts in terms of food, sanitation facilities, hygiene, and service.
  1. However the company has no direct control over their maintenance. Guest/s shall take note that the Restaurant Manager allots the table for the group & same depends upon the group size and infrastructure of the restaurant.
  1. For Muslim guest, we arrange halal food wherever available. In India we don’t have halal certified restaurant. Hence,  if somewhere, halal food is not available then we arrange vegetarian food.

 

Meals:

  1. There is mostly a pre-set menu for meals depending on the tour program and on some destination we provide buffet meals in same hotel.

  2. Packed meals are served at some places.

  3. Company does not differentiate amongst the guest/s by providing a special meal or special diet.

 

Tour guide / Escorts on Tour:

  1. Tour Guide/assistants/escorts are assisting to the guest/s throughout the tour, they are not responsible for guest/s baggage or any kind of personal belongings.

  2. The guest/s themselves should carry their baggage. The instructions and information of the tour, are to be followed in the group tours and tour leaders is not responsible for any instructions overruled by the guest/s and its consequences.

 

Cancellation Policy:

  1. If guest wish to cancel the tour for any reason at any point of time whatsoever she/he shall give the request to the company within a specified time limit. Such cancellation would be chargeable as per the policy.
  1. Cancellation charges will be calculated on gross tour invoice and the cancellation charges shall depend on date of departure & the date of cancellation.
  1. Cancellation charges for any mode of transport ticket are applicable as per the rules of the concerned authority.
  1. If Air ticket issued on special fare are non-refundable and the guest shall bear the cancellation charges. Any refund payable to the guest will be paid after the company receives refund from the respective authorities. The company deducts processing charges from the refund which is to be paid to the guest.

  1. The registration / booking amount paid at the time of booking is non refundable and interest free. Guests have to pay the full tour price as per the guidelines given in the brochure and as per approval of our travel consultant.

  2. If a Guest books a tour within 30 days prior to the departure date, he/she should make a payment of the entire amount Or most consult with our “Tour Manger” and according guest make the payment either by TT, Wire transfer, credit card or cash on arrival.

  3. Payments can be made via online and Offline both. For online payment, please logon to www.sumanyatours.com, book your desired tour and make payment online by using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking (depend on international). For Offline payment, guest can pay by cheque /  Demand draft in favour of  “SUMANYA TRAVEL SERVICES PVT LTD”. For international guest, can transfer payment via TT, wire transfer, westernmoney, Cash on arrival. Our bank detail is mention below.

Travel Insurance:

  1. Insurance is not included in package cost.  Company strongly recommended to have a travel insurance of all guest travelling to India or any foreign country. Guest can contact to their travel insurance partner to his/her own country for travel insurance.
  1. Normally overseas Mediclaim Insurance covers hospitalization, medical emergencies and the loss of passport. Hence, for more detail, contact your travel insurance partner.
  1. For any claims, the insurance company shall be solely responsible for granting or rejecting claims and we do not have any hold over it. It is at a sole discretion of the respective company we are only facilitator. Also, insurance does not cover pre-diagnosed ailments. In case of foreign nationals, insurance will have to be obtained by the individuals on their own.

  1. Company reserves the right to modify or alter the tour itinerary in case of any unavoidable circumstances such as hotel availability, climatic problem, flight cancellation or any whatever reason. Changes shall be informed to the guests at the earliest. Any additional charges, if applicable, are to be paid by the guest.
